Notice: Many people buy used mats and mats from dealer who have stock laying around. If the Biomat does not get shipped directly to you from the manufacturer (Richway International) with a dealers RI number and there is a problem with the mat down the road, they will NOT repair, fix, or exchange your Biomat with a refurbished or new one. To make sure an authorized dealer who is shipping you a new Biomat that they have in stock is still under warranty, make sure they give you the RI number associated with that mat. You must have the original invoice number and the mat will be shipped to the original owner and they will call the number who the Biomat is registered with.
The new model is called the 7000mx and it began shipping out mid-November 2012.
BOGUS BIOMAT DEALERS
Make sure you know the RI number of your mat AFTER you order.
If the RI number is not registered to the ORIGINAL dealer at time of purchase, there is no way for the manufacturer to know when it was bought or to whom.
If you find a Biomat and the price seems to cheap, let me know the RI number and I can find out if its an older model or the latest model as well when it was bought. Many are bought but the warranty is already used up.
The latest models have the white pad, not the orange pad.
The older version still says 7000mx and if you a mat with a black suitcase, you are getting the older model. They look identical so beware of buying the older version from anyone trying to offload them at a better price than sounds legit.
Buyer Beware of LOOK-ALIKE Biomats
I won't mention brand names because I don't approve of them. When I first bought these knock off mats, I wondered why the amethyst is more purple. So, as I know a diamond cutter who knows about almost every kind of gem and stone out there, he said the amethyst was enhanced. It is difficult to know if the amethyst has been "treated" until you measure the conductivity and run tests on the stones. They also had super expensive microscopes and laser cutters so I know if they told me after looking at the stones and they said the purple color wasn't natural, that is when I knew the truth. I was like how could these mats be half the price.
Irradiated Amethyst: Irradiating the amethyst can make the color more purple. The iron oxide in the amethyst can turn its hue a darker purple when this happens. The FIR benefits from the amethyst are not the same the years and years of the decaying process that turns the color purple naturally. Many times, the way to change the color to more purple is to use HPHT. High pressure and high temperature can alter the stones. They do this with diamonds to make yellowness in diamonds appear more clear or to change colors in stones. Worse than this, you don't want to get a mat that has stones covered with a colored film or painted to make it look like authentic amethyst.
There are many reasons that these knock off mats trade cheaper. It can be a number of things but when you measure the far infrared output on an infrared camera or just note how you feel when comparing a knockoff mat to a real Biomat, that's the best way to know the difference.
Also, make sure if you are buying a knock off that you know the type of heating element used in the mat. The ones that I went on had hot spots and were cold near the edges even where the heating element was under.
Different brands have different grades of carbon heaters. Remember, the amethyst can only amplify the qualify of the far infrared heating them up.
If you are uncertain if a mat that is selling for half the price has untampered with amethyst, I urge people to get a written statement from the company and let them know you will demand a refund or do a charge back if the mat is not what they claim.
If anyone is considering a knock off, I urge people to have their ion meter out and see how low or high the ion count is. I do not trash talk brands nor will I do a video showing how bunk some of these knock offs can be. You can get an ion meter for 30 to 40 bucks on Ebay if you want to see for yourself.
Email me your questions here and they'll be posted here with responses.
Most people go for 30 minutes for daily usage or sleep on it all night on low. Those having a health crisis usually go for 1 hour to 2.5 hours at different heat settings all at once or throughout the day.
Why are some amethyst mats half the price of the Biomat?
If seen knockoffs the same size of the professional size as low as 600 dollars. They give off nearly same temperature but the ion output on the ones I tested were about 1/10th of the Biomat and the Far infrared output was slim to none. They put out mostly near infrared. Some of them have synthetic purple colored amethyst to fool you into thinking its the real deal.
What do you think of jade mats?
Jade was actually what the first infrared mats where made out of nearly 30 years ago. In fact the founder of Richway actually stumbled into creating the Biomat. Mr. Kim owned a jade mine and people would purchase the jade dust which was a byproduct from the jade mine and jade jewelry industry. At a loss as to why people would buy this jade powder he finally asked what they were using it for. This is where he found that people were mixing the jade powder with resin to place on heating pads for pain relief. This really peaked Mr. Kim's interest as he himself had some pain and other issues that he had, after trying one of these mats and feeling the difference it made, he made up his mind. He was going to make his own company and share the benefits of his creation... This is how the Biomat was born nearly 20 years ago. Richway has however improved the biomat 5 times since it's creation. This includes the conversion from the original jade design to amethyst as years or laboratory and double blind testing showed that the amethyst a better choice with regard to infrared and vibrational energy.
So in short, Jade is not a bad choice it was once used in the Biomat 19 years ago, but Richway has evolved to provide a better product for there customers.
Why are some infrared mats so cheap and the Biomat so expensive?
Some of these companies treat there jade with synthetic chemicals that preserves them. These artificial polymers disrupt the far infrared that naturally come out of the stones. Also, a good sign of this is when you get the mat and it has a funny smell, like petrochemicals. Also there is no way to know how much jade powder is mixed with the polymer so a jade mat that claims to have twice as much jade can actually have less active infrared producing area.
Should I buy a used infrared mat?
Yes and no. Some people abuse their mats or leave a pillow on their mat for long periods of time which can ruin the heating element causing cold spots. We use a laser thermometer and test any demo or returned mat to us to make sure the heating elements aren't damaged. If set to 158 degrees, it should be around the same temperature all over the mat, not an area where its 25 degrees less.
Should I do a liver flush first if I plan on using an infrared mat for lymphatic drainage?
I would talk to a health professional about this first. I cannot recommend any medical advice but I do know what the best brands of whatever someone is going to take. There are some low grade brands and some really expensive quality brands. I know the most aggressive probiotics, wild crafted green superfoods. (not just spinach and kale powder) but wild crafted greens). The juice powders cost more than those that have over 50% alfalfa hay powder. Lecithin is probably the most important supplement I use. I've found the highest quality lecithin and eat 3 times the amount when I am flushing excessive lymph.
Notice: The older Biomat controller looks different than the latest upgraded controller. See how many differences you can pick out between the old Biomat 7000mx and the latest. If you buy a used one from us, we will tell you if it is the latest model. Many people are getting the older model and not knowing it.
Note: the components in the old look and the new look of the controller are the same. The reason I mention the differences is because the latest Biomat has the controller with the new look. It is just the outside look that is different with the controller.
